Purchased Poulan blower/vac on 11/11/15 from Menards Evendale. Unit runs till it gets hot then shuts down, tried to return it to store, but store refused to accept it back. Their suggestion was to take it to the service center down the road for service. "Why should I have to take a new unit in for service"? After all it was only six days old. Spoke with general store manager who was very rude & unprofessional with no results. "I WILL NEVER SHOP MENARDS AGAIN".

I ordered 7 pkgs of rug binding. When a box came to my house without any kind labeling saying it was from Menards. There was no packing list in the box but there was 5 pkgs of LED lights. I called the number on the return label to verify the box was from Menards and the "front end manager" repeated several times she could not help me. I sent an email to menards.com with even more explanation than I have on this review only to get a response that said "Thank you for your e-mail. The order you received is for order number ** which is for quantity 7 of sku 711-2063 Multy Home Runner Edge Binding Kit that you purchased on 11/11/15 on Menards.com. Attached is your order confirmation e-mail for you reference". If you can order from somewhere else I highly recommend you do!

Why is that Menards has only 1 wheelchair and only 1 motorized chair? Almost every time I go to Menards in Hammond, IN there no handicap chairs at that store. I left Menards and went to Home Depot, spent about $175.00 where there were 3 again, 3 motorized chairs. I guess Menards just does not care about disabled people or veterans who are disabled. I think Menards should be embarrassed that many other stores have at least 2 or more motorized chair. Also when I was at Home Depot I met someone else that left Menards and came to Home Depot for the very same reason, just plain bad customer relations.

I purchased large amounts of De-Ice Chemicals from Menards last winter, largely due to the rebate. I have sent in copies of rebates 2X's with no response. It is not in their system and they have no phone number to call. Awfully shady!!

I have always enjoyed Menards. I recently had to return a bathtub stool for my mother in law. The people are always polite. As the owner of a roofing company, I am in and out of home improvement stores quite often. I choose to use Menards over actual suppliers because of the prices and service that I receive.

I am a pro carpenter and do business at Lowe's, HD, Menards and local yards. Although I long for the days of a good old fashioned yard, Menards is the place to go for lumber, tools, paint, and hardware. No, they don't have as good of help in some other areas but they have better "stuff." Most of the complaints I read about them indicate not familiarizing themselves with published practices. Come on, folks, they shouldn't have to babysit you!

I ordered 1500 bucks in cabinets and they were awful. They were chipped and discolored. When I went to exchange them I was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about and that I was lying about the issues. They did allow me to exchange the cabinets and I looked at them before I left and some of them they had on the shelf were also damaged. The items I returned I watched them put back on the shelf to be sold to the next person. When I was there I never once had a manager come and speak to me about the issue. I called the corporate office and was told I had to submit a letter before anyone would even speak to me but I don't want to write a letter. I want the issue resolved. So I then called the store itself and spoke to the gm and also felt like I was not getting anywhere with him. This company always says they have the best customer service and I believe that is a complete false statement.

I went to the O'fallon Menards today to pick up a garbage disposal. When I returned home with the appliance I realized that I had grabbed the wrong model. I took the garbage disposal back to Menards hoping to find the correct model. When I walked in with my 2 year old and 6 year old in tow, the service desk was somewhat busy. I tried to catch an employee's eye to see if I could just run back and get the model I needed to make the exchange. I could not catch their eye and at that point my 6 year old said he had to use the restroom. The disposal I already purchased was in the cart and I thought I would grab the correct model real quick, cruise by the restroom and then back to the service desk to exchange. When we got to the area where the disposals were located, a very nice and helpful employee helped me look to see if the correct model was there.

He saw the disposal in my cart and I explained I grabbed the wrong model and he was very nice and didn't say anything about needing a sticker or anything on the already purchased garbage disposal. I took my 6 year old to the restroom and then headed to the service desk to make the return. As soon as I walked up to the service desk and said I needed to make a return, the employee looked at me skeptically and said "Where did you come in the store?" I was kind of confused and pointed to the door right behind me and she said "Did you walk past this desk?" I said yes and started to explain that I had a receipt and had originally just wanted to make an exchange and the employee began to explain in a VERY condescending tone that in the future I needed to make sure I stopped at the service desk and got a sticker for the item I wanted to exchange.

I told her I did stop but they were busy and my son had to use the restroom. She proceeded to keep going with her condescending tone and said "Well I'll do it this time but if you don't want any trouble in the future you need to follow procedure". At this point I was getting frustrated because I could read her accusatory undertone and I had done nothing to deserve this tone.

First of all, I saw no "procedure" listed at the service desk. Secondly, no one would even look my way when I came in and was standing waiting for assistance, and last, but not least, I had a receipt that would match exactly to the exact product I needed to return. She made a production of having to call to some "manager" and see if it was ok to return the product since I had walked up to the service desk from the store area. I did not at all appreciate her tone and service and told her I would not be returning to their store for any of my future needs. If you have a procedure you want followed MAYBE you should acknowledge customers when they come in.

I wanted to purchase the last of a seasonal item which required the floor model to be removed from shelving 20' up in the air so I called ahead. Spoke to Derek who said it was busy (Sunday) so I told him I would give them the day to get it down for me and would pick it up at 3pm the next day. Got there, not only had Derek just loaded it into another person's car but he took off when he heard me speaking to his co-worker about picking up the item. When I found out, I requested another be sent to me from a different store since they had taken it down at my request and he had said they were too busy when I was willing to go get it.

I ended up standing around waiting for a manager, who happened to have stood there and listened to the whole situation and walked off, only to have him be a complete jerk and tell me "Well you could have driven the 20 miles to go get the other one by now". He was absolutely rude and none of them had any apologies for messing up. I wrote corporate and received a lovely letter from Arlene in charge of customer relations... saying whoops, "Sorry you don't like our service. We are a self-serve store" so too bad. She also blamed me because they don't "hold" items... when I'm the one that was told to give them time!! I'm remodeling not one, but two houses and they just lost thousands of $$ with the loss of this customer. All they had to do was say they would waive the shipping on the item from another store.

On Sat 10/17 I spent 179 dollars at Menards in Findlay, Ohio and the cashier never said thank you, come back again, kiss my butt or anything nice. Menards is off my shopping radar for good! Never been treated this way at Lowe's.

I order 2 bay doors and they got put up and we notice that there was banding strap from steel bands and also forklift marks in the door. I ask Menards to do something with this and they said Ideal Door would get in contact with me. They have never done so and I went back week after week and I get the same results. And last night, I got bitten by a snake since the seals are bad at the door from their forklift ripping off the door. This would not of happen if the seals was intact. And spending over 6500.00 on bay door and no warranty at all, commercial door with ideal 5 star, I would say run as fast as you can from that store in Council Bluffs since they do not want to take care of their customers and treat you really bad. They're only to take your hard earn cash and not give you a good product. They damage them in store then they don't stand by their products, so shop somewhere else and don't get taken like I did...

On Oct 6, 2015 we placed an order (#**) online, as we do not live anywhere near Menards stores. On the October 6 order, we paid an extra $65 for Express 2-day shipping. On Oct 8 we checked to see the delivery status, and found that the order was placed into "Manufacturer back-order" status. We used the Menards online "contact us" form, in an attempt to find out an expected delay time, but received NO replies. We then contacted the "Manufacturer" to inquire about the "back-order" status and their reply is copied and pasted below:

"Hello, Thank you for contacting Rust-Oleum Product Support. They are not on backorder everywhere. I am not sure why you are getting that error from them. You can place the order with another retailer such as Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon. This should not be backordered across the board." We then used the Menards "Contact Us" form again, and relayed this information on that form, and again, we received NO Reply! But upon checking the order status again later, the status had been changed from "Manufacturer Back-Ordered", to "Shipped in full to guest", noting that the shipping label had been created, but no further information.

On Oct 9, we again checked the shipping status, and there was no updated information, other than the shipping label was created. At this point, we used the Menards "Contact Us" form again to request a cancellation of the order and reimbursement to our credit card. We did get a reply from this request as follows: "I am checking to see if your order can be cancelled. Because your order has been submitted for processing to our warehouse or vendor, we cannot guarantee that your order can be cancelled, but will do our best to honor your request. As soon as information regarding the cancellation request is received, I would be happy to contact you back."

We then contacted the shipping company the label was created for, to check on the status. Here is what we learned on Oct 10, from FedEx on the tracking of the shipment: "Our records show that while the shipper has generated a label for this package, it has not been tendered to FedEx for delivery. At this point, may we suggest that you contact your shipper for further assistance."

So, as you can see, this order has not been "Shipped in full to guest" status, as Menards guest services department has placed the order into. All we are asking is for this order to not get filled, not get shipped, and get refunded in full. Today is Oct 13. We paid for this order on Oct 6, paying for 2-day shipping! The order has not been shipped yet. And we have been given misleading information from the beginning. If this item was not in stock to fill our order, why did Menards system not indicate this prior to final shopping cart purchase? DO NOT DO ONLINE BUSINESS WITH MENARDS!

Called store and was advised it will take another 7-10 days to get correct materials. Still waiting to hear back from store on a fix. Who pay $200 crew cancellation? Need to go back to Lowe's!!!

If you buy a small engine at Menards, and you put gas and oil in it, and it won't start, they won't take it back. I just bought an $800 generator that wouldn't start once I got it home. Take it back??? Not Menards!!! "We can't take back an engine you put gas and oil in," they said. "How was I supposed to start it up without gas and oil?" I asked. "Not our problem" they replied. They told me I had to get it repaired under warranty. Imagining buying a new car, and after gassing it up, not being able to start it, but the car dealership says "I'm sorry. We can't take it back now that you put gas and oil in it. Looks like you'll have to get it fixed." I'm going to take these sleaze balls to court. Anyone want to start a class action lawsuit?

I was recently shopping for a lawn mower. I contacted the store closest to me and asked if they knew if and when they might get in more this year. This was highly unlikely as I called in very late September or early October. I spoke with them and was told that I could contact another store that was about 40 miles from my house as it appeared they might have some in back. I called the other store only to be told that there was an error on the computer and there were none available. By the way I neglected to indicate these stores were in Livonia, Michigan and Chesterfield Township, Michigan. I was also given a store to contact in Iowa that indicated they had several available.

I contacted the Iowa store and spoke to what ultimately I found out to be was a brand new customer service manager who advised me that she would transfer me to the department and they in turn would get all the necessary information from me to have the item shipped to a local store for me to pick up there. Once I was transferred I provided all the information requested except my charge card information as the associate I talked to indicated he would call me back shortly to confirm a sale and the fact that he thought that I had been misled and that there would be a charge to ship the item. After adding the shipping cost this became very unrealistic. I contacted Menards corporate office and went around in circles trying to get to talk with a person. The greeting at Menards corporate so that is their goal to satisfy the customer. Any and all concerns must be submitted via email.

Ultimately I obtained a direct phone number for the store manager in Iowa who advised I was given bad information and this error would be clarified with anyone who answered phones. He was absolutely not willing to do anything to assist with me getting this item. I understand policy is policy but I also understand that if the company goal is to satisfy customers he should have come up with some sort of an idea how to try to make things right. Something as simple as a small gift card to be used locally may have been an appropriate action he could have taken. While Menards is still kind of new in our area I for one have no intention of ever shopping there. I can always go to Home Depot, Lowe's or various other retailers.

We purchased an Eljer Stool from there about 3 years ago and we needed to replace the stool kit because it was leaking water all the time. We called Menards and they said that they did not carry the kit for the Eljer 42-72 and so we asked if any of the other stores in the area had them and they said no. So we are not very impressed with the Menards as people don't replace their stools every 3 years just because they can't get a part for their stools. We will not be shopping Menards again.

I have been buying thousands of dollars worth of product per week for the last five months. Recently, the project required a large amount of novabrik. I brought the dimensions of the project in and they had three people calculate the needed materials (to ensure accuracy they said). As it turned out the corner strips and starter strips were the correct amount indicating they had very accurate dimensions; however the corner block and especially the wainscot were way underestimated, while the brick were estimated a full pallet over. I had to pay for two delivery trucks to deliver initially due to overestimate and was told I would have to pay for one to pick up the excess again.

What's even worse is I was scheduled for eifs this week and have to rush the underestimated stuff for another 215 dollars in shipping. The return will cost me over 200 for restocking fee and truck plus the additional 215 for getting what I need. Not to mention I would not have needed two trucks to start with at 60 dollars per delivery. Over 475 dollars wasted due to their ignorance. This will be it for me!

I bought an (expensive) item at Menards and went to pick it up. They no longer had the item I purchased but offered me different items. I politely asked for my money back so I could try find that specific item I needed. They said they could only do store credit. The corporate "guest services" responded to me and said "items are sold and picked up on a first come first serve basis." So, they can sell the same item multiple times and whoever picks it up first gets it??

I ordered a garage; engineered trusses, all the lumber, shingles etc. The job is in a tight spot and there is little space on site for storing materials let alone trusses. When speaking to the "delivery specialist" I was assured that they would deliver only the lumber now and the trusses, shingles, etc. later, when I called for them. My schedule is tight and so I made sure that I made the delivery schedule far in advance so that I could get it delivered when I wanted. I asked if they would be delivered first thing in the morning... The answer was a resounding yes since I was making the order so far in advance.

The truck showed up around 11:30 am (I was told to expect it around 7-8 am. On the truck were the half of the order that I didn't need! I immediately called the store and asked for the correct half to be sent. I was told that they wouldn't be able to get it out until the next day late in the afternoon. Their screw up has cost me two days of work. This is not the first problem I have had with Menards but it is the last as I will not be working with them again... ever.

I love the Menards stores overall but their credit card company Capital One is an absolute joke. Having spent over an hour on a Sunday afternoon dealing with a Capital One associate, she agreed with my figures that if I sent in *** dollars it would take care of my six month promo payoffs and my current balance. Well my bill comes in today and they charge me with a late charge and interest. This is the third time this has happened. To Capital One's credit they have always credited the interest charges but why should I have to go through this every month???

The topper was that with promos coming due the rep herself did not even know how my payment would be distributed over current charges and the 5-6 promos (six months same as cash) till they go into the computer. Lesson learned, use a legitimate credit card company and not Capital One working for Menards and against the consumer.

I have had two experiences with Menards that are just unbelievable. They have no customer service. I don't think they care about their customers at all. Bought a rototiller and that broke the first day I used it and they refused to take it back. So the product I bought broke in the first 24 hours and I am stuck with this piece of junk.

I had purchased a propane tank from the Jefferson City MO Menards. It was a tank replacement which was 17.00, they charged me 44.00. I have the receipt, my bank account was debited and Menards says I was not charged according to their computer. I was told to call in on the next business day and it would be taken care of. I called the Jefferson City store 70 times with no answer so I went back to the store and was told again that I was not charged. They then contacted my bank and charged me another 44.00 because I was not charged the first time so I have now been charged 44.00 twice for a 17.00 purchase. Their phone system is out still.

NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE. Very poor quality merchandise, the WORST customer service ever, rebates are a SCAM because you never receive your rebate. Do yourself a favor and go to a quality store like Home Depot or Lowe's where the customer service is great, merchandise is top quality and no false advertising promising rebates that never come. I will be filing a complaint with the Missouri State Prosecuting Attorney's office.

I purchased a refrigerator in haste, due to mine dying in 90-degree weather. I went to three stores, Menards in Clio, MI, was the only store that had a refrigerator that would fit in my space in stock. One, one choice. Under urgent need, they would not deliver that day (around 1:00 pm we were there). It came the next morning. Ice maker not working. Water spout goes right over your glass and hits you and the wood floor. The two doors, side by side style, were uneven making the handles uneven also. Missing shelf in freezer and unadjustable, therefore the holes must be there for another shelf.

My husband received the delivery, he had been up most of two nights buying ice to save our food. All he cared about was getting the fridge going to get cold to put food in. The next day I found the problems and found new scratches in the wood floor by the delivery service. I find this product unsatisfactory and wanted to purchase another at the same store of equal or more value. A service man will be coming to fix ice maker. We have to get estimates on the floor damage. I had this product 2 days and hate it. Poorly made and poor design. I want a different fridge. Why didn't they have more than one style in stock? I pretty much had to buy this one. The two other stores had none in stock of my size. I have a common size with several choices available, but must be ordered. I filled a formal complaint by snail mail, who knows how long that will take to get on the right desk?

I bought $32.00 worth merchandise, paid with $7.95 store credit and the rest in cash which came to like $24.00. When I took back one of the things I purchased they gave me another store credit for $7.95 when all the other stuff would have used up that amount. I feel that I should have gotten cash instead of in store credit again. Which means I have shop at Menards. I no longer will go into a Menards store ever.

We recently bought a Champion 2000 generator for camping. Got it home, checked it out, filled the oil and started it and let it run for about 15 minutes. Worked great. Went camping up in the mountains and after about 30 minutes it started running rough. Shut it down and checked out oil and gas. Next day I started it back up and it wouldn't keep running. Took it down to Casper Menards. They said "Sorry we don't take them back without a independent service tech" saying it was not worth repairing.

We took it over (camper still on Mountain) and he couldn't look at it until the next morning. So there went $100.00 for motel. Picked it up and he said it has the wrong jets in the carburetor and it won't stay running above 3500 ft. His shop in town is 5000 ft. Says to buy more plugs and good luck. Then charges me $75.00. I get back to camper and guess what. Yep won't run. I bought this on by Menards card and have not even made a payment. But they don't care. They sold it knowing that it wouldn't run. But oh yeah the Tech said I could buy a carburetor kit for $150.00. So I already paid $650.00 for the Generator, $100.00 for room, $75.00 for repairs, and have used it for about 3 hours. Great Job Menards.

I have been to the yard once to pick up 20 bags of Wood Ecology Mulch. Then twice to pick of 20 and 25 bags 2 1/2" River Rock. When I enter the yard the "gate keeper" tells me he'll send someone over to help me. All 3 times, I've loaded everything by myself! No one ever shows up to help!!!! This has happened twice at the Howard store and at the store located near 441 Appleton area. Once I can understand, but 3 times is unacceptable! I think this issue needs to be addressed.

A delivery was supposed to have been made to a rental property I own. I was supposed to be called but they wrote my number down wrong, so when they arrived I was not contacted. I proceeded to talk to two people in charge of delivery and was not only treated extremely rude but was told that I did not know my own phone number, the only phone number I have! So I then proceeded to contact the store manager and was told that I gave them the wrong phone number 10 times. I keep stringent records and have gone through all Menards receipts and only the one was the delivery that had the number wrong.

The lighting does not go over the cabinet. Is there a bracket extension I could buy to bring the lights out 5 1/2 inches? I could not find an e-mail for patrol lighting for my question and I was hoping you could help. Love the quality and selections that your store has to offer. Thank you from Kentucky.

I ordered a gas range from Menards.com on July 7, 2015. Before making my choice I spent 3 weeks deciding what I wanted. Of my specifications, I wanted self-cleaning and the broiler in the oven. Because nobody has a large variety on-hand, you're almost always required to order online or take what's available. Sight unseen. I kept going back to Menards because we shop there a lot (until now) and they had the best price. The range I wanted was a GE, Black, Slide-in, self-cleaning and every time I searched it would bring up 10 options. I could go right to the one I wanted because I remembered the last 7 identifying model numbers. Because I would choose self-cleaning, none of my choices were manual clean. However, once I made my purchase, everything changed from there. The model number on my receipt dropped a zero and I now have ordered a manual clean, broiler in the bottom range.

I didn't notice the dropped zero at all. I know what I ordered. It was supposed to be delivered to the store July 20th. I had received a progress bar in an email once my order was placed but there was no change from that point on. On July 21st, (Tuesday) I stopped at the store to see if it had delivered and I just wasnt made aware. No, it was still showing on order, 14 days later. The guy at the counter suggested that I email the vendor so I did, immediately, and got a response fairly quickly that the range had been on back-order and was now being processed to the delivery agent. It was expected to be delivered to the store on Friday or Monday.

On July 23rd the progress bar went to in transit to the store. It was delivered to the store July 27th and I picked it up July 28th. Now, they don't install special orders so I had to pay someone to install it (along with the new connection hose) on July 30th. Once it was installed I was telling the installer my reasons for choosing this range. Self-cleaning, broiler in the oven, and he pulled out the drawer and the broiler was in the bottom, therefore, the range was manual clean. I called the store and they refused to take it back, it's a special order. The department manager was berating me for ordering the wrong stove, telling me I should have checked my numbers when I ordered it, it became my mistake.

Finally, the next day the General Manager of the store called and offered me a comparable range, for $50 more because the range I had ordered was discontinued and no longer available to order online. I would have had to pay someone to disconnect the range I received, load it myself, take it back to the store, unused for 2-3 weeks (the old range is long gone) until the replacement came in, pick up the range that I didn't really want, buy another gas hose connection and pay someone again to connect the replacement. REALLY??? I'm stuck with a gas range that's manual clean and the broiler in the bottom. No wonder you can't post reviews on Menards website. No longer a Menards shopper.
